Each year the National Council of Compensation Insurance (NCCI) develops classifications and workers’ compensation rates for all business operations. These rates are developed based on the risk exposure of each particular occupation. For example, an office worker does not have the same degree of exposure to injury as a contractor building a new skyscraper building.
