J.L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds is celebrating 50 years in business. James L. Hubbard founded the company as a full service insurance agency in 1957 and since that time, the company has never looked back. Jim Hubbard recruited Kevin Breheny and Ron Koopman in 1978 and once they were on board, Jim and Kevin returned to Quincy University, their alma mater, where they recruited Randy Cannady and Tim Patton in 1979.

In 1981 Kevin took over the reins as President with Randy Cannady serving as First Vice President; Tim Patton, Vice President; Ron Koopman, Treasurer and Linda Hopkins, Corporate Secretary. Today they have grown to a staff of over 30 employees offering all lines of insurance products to customers throughout a 150 mile radius and represent over 50 insurance companies.

J.L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds sells commercial insurance, personal insurance, surety bonds and employee benefits to over 3,500 clients throughout Central Illinois. With premium income of over $53 million they have been named one of the top 30 agencies in the nation by IIAA's Best Practices Study Group.

Building client trust is key to the success of J.L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds. Continued success of the agency is built by having employees who are positive problem-solvers for clients who may not understand the intricacies of insurance. In their continued goal to go above and beyond for their customers, J.L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds joined Soy Capital Bank and Trust Company in 2002. Since that time, the agency is now able to offer integrated financial services to all their customers including insurance, banking, investing and trust products.
